Paint Stripping Overview

Our Formulations, Tailored For Your Operational Needs.

At Confederate Chemicals, we have been leading the way in paint strippers since 1975. Our products provide the safest, cleanest ways to remove paint from a variety of surfaces, with a plethora of hardware to tailor along-side.

Alloy Wheels

Our solutions provide the cleanest strip for 99% alloy wheels in 2 hours or less, leaving the perfect surface for re-painting and refurbishment. We have both HOT and COLD strip formulations to suit your needs. These solutions prevent the need for manual paint removal by sanding or shot-blasting.

Metal Stripping

If you are looking to remove paint from metalwork such as Aluminium extrusions, Jigs, or simple metal components, we have a number of HOT and COLD solutions suited for removing polyester powders, epoxy-polyester powders, wet paints, and more! Our solutions do not cause heat distortion, de-tempering of spring loaded components, or alter the dimensions of threaded components.

Hot vs. Cold Stripping

When it comes to removing paint chemically from a metal surface, there are two main types; hot and cold stripping. These two processes come with their own sets of benefits;

Hot Stripping involves the use of a heated chemical containing low volatility solvents, and an acid/alkali accelerator to deal with the paint. The main benefits of hot stripping are that it can easily be tailored to fit your schedule, and that the chemicals themselves ential reduced health and safety risks. Due to the low-volatililty components, hot strip tanks can last for several years with replenishment.

Cold Stripping involves the use of strong volatile solvents and strong acids to lift and release the paint. These solutions do not require heating or external pieces of machinery such as a filter press, and are easy to maintain. Cold strippers remain to be the quickest way to strip paint from metal.
